Pratibimb has come and past... Its been a learning experience (God that sounds cliched. But its true).
Lesson number one: It doesn't pay to be nice. (I know at lease some of my esteemed readers have already hashed this out with me. hehe. poor souls) But there are these times when you feel so battered.. you feel like a wreck... you're a lost cause. You feel pissed of at everyone. You think everyone else is responsible for what's happening. (Just because you're rational enough to know that its not true doesn't mean you're able to accept it all the time). You snap, you yell, you whine. You basically make sure everyone else suffers too. (yeah i'm a bad bad girl)
You figure its a big bad world out there. And it doesn't pay to be gullible or nice. Everyone tells you to be selfish like the others.
But then something happens. Not something earth-shattering. Not even something special. But a tiny occurence. You see someone who's been working harder than you and who's missed out on much more than you have. Someone is an angel and helps you out. Someone is so shit worried that you forget that you're pissed off. Someone takes a long circuitous route just to drop you off home. Someone has a smile for everyone mingled with that dead look of pure weariness. Someone is sleeping on a 2ft by 8 ft cement block.
That's when you don't feel so bad anymore. And you realise that it IS worth the effort to be nice to people. You accept that even though everyone may not conform to YOUR ideas of nice/good/right (its not a bad thing at all) but thats okay - the others more than make up for it.
Lesson Number Two: But be nice anyways
Special Thanks:
Deepti and Karishma: for always being there.
Aditya: hehe. thanks a million man. you must have a lot of courage to put up with my shit. but thanks anyways.
Kushal, Rajeev and Raj: for being so sweet.
Raghav: for help on stage
The Pratibimb team: (i'd like to include all the possible names here. So beware) Akshay, Kallu, Aarathy, Anisha, Viral, Paresh, Viral Jr., Hari, Ritu... and all the others who don't even know me much but they're the smiling, familiar faces in the background. Oh and all those seniors who shake hands and say WAZZA when they meet you.. Its a sweet gesture..
Ickle firsties: (more names) Uttu, Ankit, Hiren, KD, Priyanka, Priya, Bakshi, Rachna, Grishma.. People who've given me company when i most needed it.
Ahem. Now that my speech is over... i shall go sleep.
Adios.
NOTE:
Compliments make you feel good =D Especially when they're unasked for.

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club
Here is somethng i read only today:
Acquainted With The Night - Robert Frost
I have been one acquainted with the night.
I have walked out in rain—and back in rain.
I have outwalked the furthest city light.
I have looked down the saddest city lane.
I have passed by the watchman on his beat
And dropped my eyes, unwilling to explain.
I have stood still and stopped the sound of feet
When far away an interrupted cry
Came over houses from another street,
But not to call me back or say good-by;
And further still at an unearthly height
One luminary clock against the sky
Proclaimed the time was neither wrong nor right.
I have been one acquainted with the night.
I had actually written an update with that title. But since it wasn't published at any point of time.. i'm using it for this. Robert Frost is THE awesomest poet ever. If he wasn't so grave and solemn a fellow - i'd call him my squishy. How does he manage to write like that!!??
Poetry is one of the most difficult things to understand. I don't claim to understand all forms of poetry. But it can be very beautiful. Its an experience by itself.
Oh and if you haven't read Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening - then i am left speechless.
~The End~
Okay i could not possibly be so speechless that I wouldn't mention how much MORE hot Jeff Corwin seems when you haven't watched his show for months.
